Leadership Team
Mr. Herron has consulted extensively with business leaders and educators, as well as local and state government officials in the deployment of voice, video, and data technologies. Some of his projects included the North Carolina Information Highway and a multimillion dollar voice and data network solution for North Carolina-based Lowe’s Hardware. Later, as an Operations Manager, he was responsible for all customer services, engineering services, project management and implementation services for central North Carolina.
Mr. Herron left Sprint in 1999 to serve as the Director–Sales and Engineering Services for a startup public safety systems integrator, where he designed solutions for some of our nation’s most mission-critical sites. His projects included the Kennedy Space Center and Jet Propulsion Laboratory, as well as several Department of Energy sites. After starting Synergem Emergency Service, LLC., he has enjoyed building a team of professionals collectively responsible for many industry changing innovations including patents impacting several NG9-1-1 standards as well as provisioning the nation’s first NENA i3 NG9-1-1 network.
Jeff brings over twenty-five years of experience in software product development, marketing and expanding the reach of new technologies, particularly in telecommunications for voice-related products, and most recently for speech analytics software. In his role as COO, Jeff is responsible for operational performance including managing product development and quality assurance with a focus on client implementation. Jeff will also focus on building strong vendor partnerships across telecommunications and public safety industry.
Prior to Synergem, Jeff was Vice President & General Manager of the Legal Market business at Nexidia, Inc., the leading provider of speech analytics software. In this role, Jeff built a successful business helping law firms, corporate counsel and government regulatory bodies navigate changes when the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure declared that audio evidence would be treated just like any other electronically stored information for discovery purposes. Jeff built a network-based hosting solution and software licensing program that was eventually used by DOJ, CFTC, SEC, CFPB and clients that included more than 75 of the AmLaw 100 firms. He also built and managed a partnership channel strategy through e-discovery companies such as Epiq Systems, EY, Deloitte and many others.
Jeff also held various marketing experience specifically around the advancement of new technologies. He held product development roles at Cingular Wireless for all voice-related products and services. Additionally, Jeff has held executive positions at Linx Communications, Boston Technology and US West, Inc.
Jeff holds a Masters degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
With his extensive experience in management, Frank was made CEO in October of 2016 to lead the company to its “next level of success.”
Frank earned his MBA at UNC-Chapel Hill and began his career at his family’s textile business where he grew the business from $14 million in revenue to over $50 million in six years. The growth was accomplished both organically and through startup ventures and included two strategic exits.
In his spare time, Mr. Holt is a dedicated family man who enjoys CrossFit, reading and spending time with his friends and family.
Prior to joining The Buckner Companies, Mr. Holt served as Executive Vice President of Angie’s List from August 2006 through August 2012. Mr. Holt was part of the founding of Angie’s List in 1995 and served on its board of directors until Angie’s List’s public offering in 2011.
Prior to joining Angie’s List, Mr. Holt held several leadership roles with various family businesses, including Holt Sublimation Printing and Products, Inc. and Holt Hosiery Mills, Inc. Mr. Holt also serves on the boards of Kingsdown, Inc., Offline Media, LLC, Holt Hosiery Mills, Inc., The Episcopal High School (Alexandria, VA) and Alamance Regional Medical Center (Cone Health).
Mr. Holt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Davidson College (magna cum laude) and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
