Myron S. Herron, Jr., is the principal founding partner of Synergem Technology Group. Prior to assuming his present position, he enjoyed a highly successful career in communications with extensive experience in operations management, systems engineering and sales.
Following his graduation, Magna Cum Laude, from North Carolina State University, he participated in an intensive, 18-month Executive Training program with Sprint. While part of this program, he was directly responsible for initiating and implementing numerous corporate initiatives. In addition, he served as an Outside Plant Engineer charged with the deployment of networking and computer equipment. He later served in a series of increasingly responsible engineering, operational and management positions. Very early in his career, he was promoted to Business Service Manager where he directed multi-disciplinary teams responsible for a wide range of customer services. During this period, he was honored as Sprints Business Service Manager of the Year award three years in a row. He then moved into a Sales Manager position charged with leading the sales team in the proposal, design, and implementation of data and video projects. In this capacity, he engineered complex systems including voice, structured wiring, fiber optics, ATM, SONET, Ethernet, token-ring, and outside plant systems. Mr. Herron consulted extensively with business leaders and educators as well as local and state government officials in the deployment of voice, video and data technologies. Some of his projects included the design and implementation of a multi-agency advanced ATM network for Surry County North Carolina; developing distance-learning solutions to be delivered on the North Carolina Information Highwayas well as a multi-million dollar voice and data network solution for North Carolina-based Lowes Hardware.
Later, as Operations Manager, Myron was responsible for all business customer services, engineering services and project management for central North Carolina. In this capacity, he was called upon often as a subject matter expert by the Sprint corporate staff for various corporate initiatives. His last assignment with Sprint was as Acting General Manager, Sales and Service where his leadership and strategic vision contributed to the growth of a multi-million dollar branch that consistently surpassed its goals.
Mr. Herron left Sprint in 1999 to serve as the Director Sales and Engineering Services for a small 911 systems integrator. In that position, he designed solutions for many city and county agencies as well as some of our nations most mission critical sites such as NASAs Kennedy Space Center and Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
After the small integrator was sold to New York investors, he decided to form his own firm to continue development of the Manufacturer Neutral - SPOC concept and to exploit the growing impact of browser-based technologies on the public safety industry. He launched Synergem Technology Group in January 2001.
